2026 RACGP Presidential Campaign Material

Dr Ramya Raman has announced her intention to nominate for RACGP President.

In accordance with the RACGP Elections Policy, candidates are formally announced on 24 July 2026 and the College will provide each candidate’s official statement on that date. Ramya’s official statement will be released here once candidates have been announced.

An important governance update

Following her announcement of intent to nominate for RACGP President, and in accordance with the RACGP Elections Policy, Ramya has stepped down from her roles as:

  • RACGP Vice President
  • RACGP WA Faculty Chair

Ramya has taken this step with respect for the integrity of the election process, the College, and the members it serves.

How you can help

This election matters for the future of general practice.

One of the biggest challenges in College elections is that many GPs do not vote. That has to change. The RACGP President is elected by members, and the strength of that mandate depends on GPs taking part.

You can help by staying informed, encouraging your colleagues to vote, and making sure your own vote is counted when voting opens.
